Our Story
Our name comes from the Occitan language of Provence. Averal means authentic: genuine, real, true to itself. It is the standard we hold every bar to, and the reason we have never compromised on where our soap comes from or how it is made.
Made in Provence, France
Every Averal Provence bar is made in the South of France, in the traditional soap-making region that has produced the world's finest bars for centuries. Our French soap is made with 72% organic olive oil and scented with essential oils from Grasse, the perfume capital of France.
What Makes Triple-Milled Bar Soap Different
Most soap you find is poured and set. Triple-milled bar soap is different. The soap base is pressed and refined three separate times before it is shaped, which forces out excess water and air.
The result is a denser, harder bar. It produces a finer, creamier lather, it does not turn soft or gummy in the shower, and it lasts significantly longer than a standard bar. It is a slower and more expensive way to make soap, and it is the only way we make ours.
Our Story
Averal Provence is founded and run by one woman, Jennifer Revello. She has spent more than sixteen years in the world of soap, and nearly twenty summers in Provence before living there for a year, learning the region, its makers, and its craft. When she put her own name on the box, she held every bar to her own standards: authentic provenance, honest ingredients, and soap she would give to the people she loves.
Averal Provence is not just a company of high-quality French soaps, but a story of survival in the face of adversity, of staying strong, of remembering your values. A story of self-care, of rising from the ashes, and of empowering not only yourself, but everyone around you.
That belief shapes how we do everything. Self-care is not indulgence. It is the small daily act of treating yourself with the same care you extend to everyone else. For many women, it is the first thing to disappear when life gets hard.
