About Averal Provence — French Triple-Milled Bar Soap from Provence
Our name comes from the Occitan language of Provence. Averal means authentic — genuine, real, true to itself. It is the standard we hold every bar to, and the reason we have never compromised on where our soap comes from or how it is made.
HANDCRAFTED IN PROVENCE, FRANCE
Every Averal Provence bar is handcrafted in the South of France, in the traditional soap-making region that has produced the world's finest bars for centuries. Our French soap is made with 72% organic olive oil and scented with essential oils from Grasse, the perfume capital of France.
We do not manufacture in bulk, and we do not cut corners on ingredients. We work with a family soap house in Provence that has been making soap the traditional way for generations.
WHAT MAKES TRIPLE-MILLED BAR SOAP DIFFERENT
Most soap you find is poured and set. Triple-milled bar soap is different. The soap base is pressed and refined three separate times before it is shaped, which forces out excess water and air.
The result is a denser, harder bar. It produces a finer, creamier lather, it does not turn soft or gummy in the shower, and it lasts significantly longer than a standard bar. It is a slower and more expensive way to make soap, and it is the only way we make ours.
